the analysis of farinelli's REMAINS at the certosa in Bologna to begin

Farinelli's disinterment is included in a historical-scientific project on Florentine antiquarian Alberto Bruschi's  idea, promoted by the Centro Studi Farinelli and involving Italian and foreign Universities, the Soprintendenza per il Patrimonio Storico Artistico e Etnoantropologico (Superintendence of Historical, Artistic and Ethnoanthropological Heritage) and the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici dell'Emilia Romagna (Superintendence of Archeological Heritage in Emilia Romagna), and the Museo di Antropologia dell'Università di Bologna (Museum of Anthropology of the Bologna University).
The research groups involved are coordinated respectively by anthropologist Maria Giovanna Belcastro (Bologna University), paleopathologist Gino Fornaciari (Pisa University) and engineer David Howard (York University).
Depending on their condition, Farinelli's remains will be analysed to get all information necessary to reconstruct the biological profile of the famous singer.
This research work will be effected by using all modern technologies available today (X-ray, Tac, immunological and biomolecular research work, etc.) and will permit to get new data on Farinelli and his lifestyle.
