Bologna welcomes Tetsuro Shimaguchi

On the occasion of the Nerd Show, scheduled for 17 and 18 February 2024 at the Bologna exhibition center, Tetsuro Shimaguchi, guest of the event with his performance, was welcomed by the Municipality of Bologna and accompanied during a small guided tour which started from the Cinema Modernissimo, and then continued to Palazzo d'Accursio, where Shimaguchi met Deputy Mayor for Digital Innovation, Massimo Bugani and Councilor Mery De Martino. The latter gave him a gift: a print by the artist Giorgio Morandi as a sign of friendship and esteem from Bologna Municipality. The visit continued at the MAMbo Museum, an unmissable stop for those who love art. One of the most iconic works in the museum was able to evoke the bond between Bologna and Itabashi, the city in which the samurai artist lives and works and with which Bologna shares a profitable relationship of friendship and collaboration: a "portico", an extremely representative architectural element for Bologna and also present at the Itabashi Central Library.

Shimaguchi, with his Academy and through his art, transmits the tradition of the ancient samurai warriors to the new generations. He is the choreographer of the fight scenes of Quentin Tarantino's famous film Kill Bill, as well as an actor and dancer.
