The Hot Spot Iperbole / Palazzo d'Accursio service has the main goal to foster wireless access throughout the Bologna city center.
SERVICE FEATURES
Subscribed users will be provided with access codes that could be re-used for eventual new sessions. The maximum length of each session is three hours.
It is allowed to make use of the electric power at the Iperbole-Internet Service (dedicated plugs only) to use the service and recharge laptop battery. Moreover, users have to guard carefully the personal access codes which are issued for the service, and are responsible for any improper use of them. The service does not include technical support for the configuration of users' laptops.
Users' laptops must satisy the following minimum system requirements:
- Operative system: WINDOWS 98, 98 SE, 2000, ME, XP or MAC OS 8.6 and OS 9.1, MAC OSX or LINUX.
- Processor: Pentium 166Mhz or bigger.
- RAM Memory: 32MB or bigger.
- Wi-Fi interface supporting IEEE 802.11g/b standard.
- TCP/IP Protocol with DHCP Client enabled Internet Browser installed (MS Internet Explorer 4.1 or later version, Netscape Navigator 4.x, Mozilla FireFox).
Data transmission speed can change from 1Mbit/sec. to 54 Mbit/sec. (802.11g), depending on distance from the access point and actual traffic.
