This publication is a collection of the contents of the homonymous exhibition that took place at the headquarters of the Architects’ Association of Bologna (May-June 2016 and 2017), on the occasion of the restoration of the sculptural group representing the Virgin Mary seated, holding Child by Andrea Ferreri in 1706, known as the “Madonna Grassa” since the early 19th century. The restoration of 2016, funded by the Architects’ Association of Bologna, was an opportunity to further the knowledge regarding this work of art which is an integral part of the building that hosts the headquarters of the Architects’ Association and is located along the St. Luca Portico. The exhibitions and the catalogue were aimed at sharing the fruit of the research with the community. A research work that has turned on the spotlight on the St. Luca Portico, which dates to the beginning of the eighteenth century, and the meaning of the sculptural group of the “Madonna Grassa”.
