2001 Solo-performance Viaggio nella macchina with sound technician Vincenzo Vasi. Artist residence at the association La terza decade-L'aquila signorina to create and show the installation, followed by a concert-performance called Bassa fedeltà with both duo Gastronauti and duo Travagliando (Sabatini Vasi Gauthier). A project for the festival of theatre, music and dance Colloqui con Y , Molinella (BO). 2000 Duo Travagliando (Sabatini-Gauthier): concert-performance for the art gallery Montréal Télégraphe (Montreal, (Qc) Canada) at the exhibition Le son iconographe. Presentation of the solo CD - 28 + Alieni and solo- performance at Angelica festival (Bologna). Tour in the Netherlands with groups Vakki Plakkula and Atman. Plays at Festival Controindicazioni (Rome) with the Bassesfere collective. Group exhibition of his sculptural works at Beaulieu hall, (EEC) Brussels.
1999 Works with visual artist Jean Pierre Gauthier (Duo travagliando) on the installation Improvisto during the exibithion Culbute, oeuvre d' impertinance for the Conteporary Art Museum in Montreal, Canada. Partecipates in the Konstanzer Jazzherbst in Konstanz (Germany) with Specchio Ensemble. The Duo Travagliando presented their concert- performance "Déphasage" at the Galerie Skol in Montreal. The Duo Travagliando is invited to undertake a two weeks residency in the studio of AVATAR, an artist-run center involved in the field of audio art. AVATAR is a member of the Meduse Complex in Quebec. - First concert of Duo Travagliando (Sabatini-Gauthier), in the Multihall of the Meduse Complex in Quebec. 1998- Creates Duo Travagliando with Jean-Pierre Gauthier - Participates at the Jazz in Town Festival (Bologna) and plays with Ernst Reijseger (cello), F. Puglisi (piano), A. Capelli (guitar), from the group Agù founded by the guitarist D. Caliri with special guest Antonello Salis .- Participates at the 3rd edition of the Palau Music Festival (Italy). - Performs with the sound sculptor Jean-Pierre Gauthier at the Quartier Ephémère in Montreal, during the opening of the show "The death of the party".- Participates, as a musician and actor, to a play created by Le Cochon souriant, a theatre company. - He moved to Montreal,Qc, Canada, to work for a year. - Participates at the 8th edition of the Angelica New Music Festival (Bologna, Italy) with the bands Vakki Plakkula and Trio Magneto. 1997- With the trio Cubo Terzo and the painter Ulysse Renaud participates at the creation of a performance "Une Journée Epicurienne" near Auxerre (France). 1996- Birth of two new music groups: Trio Magneto with V. Vasi (bass), G. Casadei (guitar) and Vakki Plakkula with L. Mosso (bass), E. Marraffa (sax) . Vakki Plakkula performs as a theatre group in which Sabatini is also actor, singer and composer. - Exhibits his sculptures at ArteFiera in Bologna, Italy. 1995 With the group Musica nel Buio plays in a cabaret-show entitled "Lo Spettro Blu"; the show ran for three consecutive summers at the Teatro Arena del Sole in Bologna, Italy. 1994- He wins the Iceberg prize for young artists at the Iceberg Biennial in Bologna, with Cubo Terzo and Specchio Ensemble 1993- With V. Vasi (bass, voice), G. Casadei (guitar), G. A. Coatti (trombone), M. Semprini (sop. sax), M. Dalpane (piano and keyboards) plays live soundtracks for silent films screening in the group Musica nel Buio (see list below). With the same musicians he played with Ella Guru, a progressive rock band. 1992- He moves to Bologna to work with professional musicians active on the scene of free improvisation music and he is a founder member of the association BASSESFERE (F. Puglisi and S. De Bonis : piano; Caliri and A. Capelli: Guitar; F. Cusa: drums; E. Marraffa and G. Pagnozzi: sax; L. Gianetto and L. Mosso: bass). BASSESFERE promotes improvised music by organizing concerts, special events and radio programs. 1990-'91- Plays with Massimo Urbani (a. sax). Starts a long collaboration with saxophonist Carlo Gatteschi. Meets saxophonist Edoardo Marraffa who initiates him to free improvisation. 1987-89-Follows classes at the Jazz University (Terni, Italy) and participates to various workshops during the Siena Jazz festival (Italy).
