Cultural Heritage in Action call: Rock project among the selected best practices

Back in February 2020, in order to promote local and regional good practices that can boost, in an innovative way, participative governance, reuse of historical buildings, and quality actions on cultural heritage, EUROCITIES launched, together with a consortium of local stakeholders, a call named Cultural Heritage in Action.

At the end of the call, the catalogue is now ready with the 32 best practices selected at an international level, acting as a means of inspiration for other cities and regions, and having a real efficient impact on the territories. Among these, also one of the actions implemented by to the European project Rock, coordinated by the Municipality of Bologn, namely the transformation of Piazza Rossini, located in the heart of the University area and previously acting as a parking site, into a pedestrian square devoted to cultural activities, in a perspective of urban regeneration and local identity strengthening.

The Piazza Rossini case study was showcased during the European Week of Cities and Regions, last October, together with the announcement of a future call for participation to the peer-learning visits.
