Green Deal going local: Bologna best practices among the 200 collected by the European Committee of the Regions

Through the European Green Deal, the European Union has committed to become the first carbon-neural continent in the world by 2050. In this regard, the European Committee of the Regions has set out a new initiative, namely the 'Green Deal Going Local' working group, that aims at placing cities and regions at the core of the European Green Deal and ensure that both the EU's sustainable growth strategy and the COVID-19 recovery plan translate into direct funding for cities and regions and tangible projects for every territory. The 'Green Deal Going Local' working group is composed of thirteen local and regional elected representatives. The Chair of the working group is Juan Espadas, Mayor of Seville, Spain.

During the 18th European Week of Regions and Cities, that has taken place in October 2020, the interactive map and the flash report have been published, which include over 200 best practice projects so far. Among these, Bologna is mentioned for the projects Rock, Gaia, and Salus Space, as good examples that contribute to the green recovery and to a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient society.
The best practices are constantly feeding the #EUGreenDeal map and the dedicated platform, on the CoR website.
