Thanks to the results achieved by its projects and their implementation timing, as well as its ability to manage the European funds, the Municipality of Bologna has been awarded by the national Managing Authority of the National Operational Programme on Metropolitan Cities (NOP Metro) with an extra allocation of almost 2.5 million Euros .
The City will then have a remarkable additional funding available, to be aplit into the four intervention areas set by the Programme:
Metropolitan Digital Agenda (362,000 Euros);
Sustainability of public services and urban mobility (778,000 Euros);
Services for social inclusion (627,000 Euros);
Infrastructures for social inclusion (679,000 Euros).
The extra funding from the Programme was decided by the European commission last August, and the national Managing Authority has now formally provided the allocation accordingly.
Deputy Mayor Matteo Lepore, in charge for the management of the NOP Programme, has publicly expressed his gratitude to the whole staff at the NOP – Structural Funds Division, within the International Relations and Projects Office, and all the other Areas and Divisions of the Municipality that contributed in this example of good administration.
