EUROCITIES 2018: Bologna in forefront

From 28 to 30 November the Annual General Meeting of the major European city network has taken place in Edimburgh, Scotland, focussing this year on Creative Competitive Cities: three days of exchange, roundtables and networking between the representatives of 120 cities, out of the over 140 members, coming from 30 different countries.
The City of Bologna was represented by Deputy Mayor for European and itnernational relations Marco Lombardo, who took actively part in the “Creative conversations” about innovation and its possible support by the city government, and brought the experience of Bologna about Participatory Budget and Cooperation agreements with citizens as good practices in terms of participation and engagement of citizens.
On the last day of the meeting, the ‘Declaration on Citizens engagement' was signed by all the attending cities.
Moreover, EUROCITIES AGM has elected Anna König Jerlmyr, mayor of Stockholm, as EUROCITIES president, and Dario Nardella, mayor of Florence, as EUROCITIES vice president; the cities of Barcelona, Ghent, Leipzig and Ljubljana have been re-elected as ExCom members. The city of Leipzig will continue its work as secretary and the city of Warsaw as treasurer.
