The City of Bologna has decided to join the '#Cities4Europe - Europe for Citizens' initiative, promoted by EUROCITIES with the aim to increase and improve the dialogue between European citizens and public authorities, to try and fill the existing gap between them and local political leaders.
The campaign will officially come alive on 7 May 2018, at 12:00 (Brussels time) with a simultaneous online kick-off, but the dedicated website is already available: a showcase for the cities, to present their events and best practices engaging citizens' involvement in the local public life.
The final aim is to collect as many inputs as possible, so as to exhibit a first selection of recommendations at the EUROCITIES Annual General Meeting, scheduled in Edimburgh on 28-30 November 2018.
All the participating cities are required to organize at least one event or activity, during the month of May, within the context of the campaign. Also, the citizens aill be asked to give their recommendations both in the form of thoughts, to be written on specials branded postcards that will be available at the events, and in the form of pictures, that can tell stories about cities and citizens-
44 European cities have already officially joined the campaign, including Florence, Genoa and Turin.
