It is a centre for theatre production, promotion, organization and training. It houses important Italian and foreign companies specialized in theatre research, contemporary dance, music, and theatre for kids. During the 2008-2009 theatre season, the historic Bolognese company “Il Gruppo Libero” (which has managed the theatre since 1993) and the Fortebraccio Teatro di Roma Company (directed by Roberto Latini) were merged together.
