Contemporary and research music finds a home in Bologna in the Teatro San Leonardo complex. The Cultural Association Pierrot Lunaire - which since 1991 has been the promoter of AngelicA, International Music Festival and record label “i dischi di angelica” - has won a bid and was entrusted by the Bologna City Council with the management of the premises in Via San Vitale 63-69.
The cultural association is turning the Teatro San Leonardo into the permanent headquarters of a research laboratory dedicated to 360-degree music research, created to bring Bologna back to being a point of reference for artists, audiences and anyone actively involved in the world of research music.
The Centre of Music Research that AngelicA created is the place where it is possible to record, to have rehearsals using professional sound and light systems and to make new productions; a location that, thanks to the experience and the relationships of AngelicA, is already involved in an international net that joins the Centre of Music Research to the most important and various realities in the world. Based on last updating received on the 6th of November 2012 by the Bologna City Council, the renovations of the Teatro San Leonardo – Centre of Music Research will take place from March to Autumn 2013 and will involve the area of the Teatro San Leonardo and the ex student house located in via San Vitale 63-67-69.
